I was absolutely overjoyed at Obama's election. However, the first thing he did really bothered me. He appointed Rahm Emanuel as his chief of staff. I generally think I like the guy but the rub is that is the guy that pushed through NAFTA as everyone knows by now. So what happened to Obama's pledge to renegotiate NAFTA? What's the answer? I don't want to think that this was just a campaign ploy. Obama has really impressed me with his sincerity so far. I think he should not wait very long to explain this apparent confusion. The Chief of Staff has a lot of influence.
