First, utter elation that Obama won (even if it was kind of a foregone conclusion going in). Then, the punch in the gut that was Prop 8. I stayed awake until about 4:30 AM, watching the numbers on the California Secretary of State's website inch one way or the other, until I finally lost hope and crashed.

I've been excited about the inauguration (was never going to go, crowds freak me out), mildly annoyed at some of the crappy cabinet picks Obama's made, but I still thought he'd at least be vaguely on our side. Then he had to go and make the biggest cockup possible. Seriously, the only way he could have made a worse choice would be to have an all-Westboro-Baptist chorus line as the opening act.

I'm just utterly gobsmacked, because it means Obama is completely fucking tone-deaf on GLBT issues or he just doesn't care.
