Focusing on the cabinet centrists also ignores the more liberal policy advisers who have a stronger role in setting policy direction in modern presidencies, as opposed to cabinet officials who manage the bureaucracy. You could easily ask how Obama could be centrist when he's surrounded by liberal policy advisors.

So I'd say your view of the cabinet and how it will shape the administration is skewed. And I wonder why many at DU seem eager to focus on the negative, overlook the positive, and assume the worst. That's a personality issue, not an ideological issue.
