14. Congrats to your Grandson! (w/ BCS comment)
He just got in to the toughest college in FL for admissions!

But, back to the BCS for a minute:
The system will rarely produce an uncontested champion regardless of a playoff system. And how would a playoff system work anyway?
The Thanksgiving weekend games are the traditional rivalry games for college teams. The week after is the conference championships. After that, whether we want to believe that the players actually go to class or not, are finals.
So when do you have playoffs? Into February?
This isn't BB. These players take a beating and need at least a week to recover.
But take this year. Before the BCS game, there were at least five legitimate contenders: USC, UU, UT, UF, and OU. So who gets the bye?
Or who gets left out?
It's not a perfect system and it's not professional football.
Let's enjoy the heart and spirit of the games and let the awards fall where they may.
Easy for me to say as Gator grad but if I was a USC, Texas, or Utah grad I'd be screaming for my team as you all should. The system isn't perfect. But with so many teams, so many conferences - it'll never be free of controversy.
