33. Obama's main screwup was at the very beginning...
but that was partly Roberts' fault. Obama began reciting his name before Roberts could say "do solemnly swear." It was supposed to be one phrase, but Barack thought there would be a pause between the two. When looking at past swearing-in's, however, it's clear that they usually do it in one phrase. "I, Barack Hussein Obama, do solemnly swear" rather than "I, Barack Hussein Obama"........"Do solemnly swear." The whole moment was awkward, but I think it was a blessing in disguise. As Clio pointed out on here earlier today, we got some WONDERFUL pictures of them smiling because they were embarrassed and laughing at themselves. Barack flashed that billion watt smile, which was pretty cool to see. :)
