69. Kennedy will firm up the liberals
Edited on Sun Jan-27-08 01:22 PM by karynnj
Carter may be a good man, but I don't think he has much if any leverage - I know his reputation in the Jewish community is mixed at best , in spite of the Camp David Accords.

What Kennedy does is increase the outlines of the coalition behind Obama - including many of the most conservative - but not necessarily DLC Senators and the most liberal (Kennedy, Leahy, and Kerry). What if he also gets the Montana Governor, Webb and Tester to augment the conservative side and other liberals like Harkin, Lautenberg, and Reed. (Reed as a key Democrat with military expertise and experience would be especially good. (I would have included Feingold, but he seems like he intends to say on the fence.)
