A message from Colorado Democratic Party:

Dear Friends,

In a shameful display of divisive, sour grapes and personal envy, Republican State Senator Norma Anderson today took the unprecedented step of opposing State Senator Joan Fitz-Gerald's rightful nomination to be Colorado's first-ever, woman Senate President. Sen. Anderson said that Joan Fitz-Gerald was unfit to be Senate President, then had the shameless audacity to try -- unsuccessfully --to split the Democratic Caucus by nominating Democratic Senator Peter Groff, instead (he declined Anderson's attempt at partisan muckraking). This is likely one of the only times in Colorado history that an attempt has been made to block the election of Senate President.

Clearly, the Republican minority in the State Senate is bitter about their well-deserved minority status and have sent the signal they intend to employ mischief and personal bitterness to halt the Democratic majority from fixing the mess the GOP left our great state in.

Let's show Sen. Anderson and the GOP minority that we won't tolerate their efforts to stop progress, good governance and the will of the people. Please call Sen. Anderson to express your displeasure with her shameful actions today: 303-866-4859
