30. I found something weird...
i decided to try myself to do a little math...NOW I am not a MATH person so I am sure that I am missing something, but I tried a smaller county. This county voted for Clinton.. Yet Bush in the last 2 elections. Ok so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb Yet... The Population strikes me as odd. Please someone tell me what I am missing here.

Thanks much.

To me it looks like there couldn't be that many registered voters in that county, yet... the census numbers are 2003... I know I am missing something but what??? Unless the county grew?? The odd thing is that, how can there be that many registered to vote?
Population census of 2003 7,922 I believe this number fell from the previous census. So unless there was major growth in this county...which I doubt, once you get south of Des Moines it starts to get pretty poor..or farming communities.
OK so registered voters....6051 That seems really high? doesn't it? The actual votes and such are below, to be quite honest I have found this in a lot of the southern counties. I will do a few more tonight. Thanks for looking

So The votes were casted like this (as of 11/8/04)
Kerry - 1833
Bush -2393
Misc - 29
Grand total Votes cast = 4255
http://www.sos.state.ia.us/pdfs/elections/2004/general/UnofficialCanvasResults.pdf

REGISTERED VOTERS
Active Dems - 1290 Inactive - 81 =1371
Active Reps - 2393 Inactive - 86 = 2479
No Party - 2011 Inactive - 190 = 2201
Grand total of Registered voters = 6051

Ok no problem I can deal with all of that...
So then I decided... well lets look at Adair county...

http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/19/19001.html
Population, 2003 estimate 7,922
Persons under 18 years old, percent, 2000 = 23.9%
