4. Bad headline writing on that article!

And I know that's not your fault, pbartch - thanks for posting the link. Dems can't just "pocket" $52 million - this is sensationalist crap not related to the article at all.

Quote from the same article:

"Election officials only have to survive 10 days, or, in some places, 20 days. That's all they have to stall. After that, wrong results cannot result in candidates being removed from office unless there is evidence that the candidate himself was involved in the fraud. Of course, there will be insulation of the candidate, as this stuff is performed by operatives, not candidates."

So all this lawsuit stuff is basically for nothing? The poll tapes in the trash compared with the other records sounds like the best find so far, but I think actual voter fraud is going to be difficult to prove in court. Screenshot from the trashcan to prove networking on the GEMS server - I have no idea how they plan to authenticate that as evidence.

My best guess on the outcome of all of this is that they'll go through the discovery phase, ask for the missing records, they won't produce them, they'll have to compel, and eventually say, "those copies are missing - we don't have them so we can't provide them" and then the judge will find no evidence of fraud. At best, maybe hold someone in Contempt.

I know I'm being a downer, but I've been through enough of this stuff and have seen how the courts in the South operate, and I don't hold much hope. This looks to me like something that is just going to fizzle out over the next few months with no result - and I REALLY HOPE I'M WRONG.
