31. Tough Questions & A Hopeful Answer
I think our hope is that the dynamic of communication is changing in a way that makes it harder and harder to fool the public. For example, imagine that we had the Internet and Democratic Underground in 1963 - I expect the glaring lies and cover-ups of the Warren Commission would have been exposed much earlier. The same applies to the Tonkin Gulf resolution. Notice how much more quickly Bushitlers lies about Iraq WMD and links to Al Qaeda have been exposed.

A good analogy for this is the "half life" of radioactive materials, which is the time it takes for 1/2 of the starting material to decay. Lies have a "half life" as well, and ultimately the truth does tend to come out, but what is changing is that the "half life" of lies is decreasing rapidly, to the point where the perps need to watch there backs. The older Bushitler probably would have been convicted of treason for Iran-Contra if it happened in modern times, just as Prescott Bush would never have been elected Senator of Connecticut after his assets were seized in 1942 under the Trading With The Enemy Act, based upon his aid to help Hitler get steel to kill Allied soldiers, and helped I.G. Farben build crematoria.

The Internet is a global resource that the Repigs dare not shut down in the US: even if they dared, it would continue throughout the rest of the globe. It is true that the Reich-wing can and does use modern electronic communication to try to control (via fear and smear)the populace, but "crying wolf" can only go so far: have you noticed that people have become de-sensitized to their phony color alerts ?

On the other hand, the capability of these new media to challenge and expose these criminals just becomes stronger. I blieve it is a medium that tends to supports the truth.

This is my only hope.
