it's pretty clear that the diocese is being unreasonable. If you think they are being reasonable, then say so and explain why.

The specific hateful language is: "People would be scandalized that the church granted a funeral to a person who had this type of business activity."

So in a completely Catholic parish this person would not even get a funeral. Saying I hate the catholic church is not an attack on you personally, so you shouldn't take it that way. You may be a person of great moral and personal virtue but the organization of the church reaches far outside the church to condemn and judge and even involve themselves in politics that impact the lives of people who despise the church as much as it despises us, and I am specifically talking about the gay community.

When the Catholic church tells me that I can't get buried as a catholic for being gay or any other "scandal" it can pull out of its ass, it's one thing, but this church also wants to tell me as a non-catholic that I can't get married to the person I love or guarantee the financial security of my family because I'm gay. The catholic church is my mortal enemy as long as it continues to spout this medieval rhetoric and act upon it.

We don't need more doublespeak and evasions from that group of medieval idiots. The pope has made us his devil and has endangered us with his medieval pronouncements. He and his deserve nothing but the profoundest contempt from us.
