I'll take any shred of hope I can find... it seems to me that while we should continue to "fight the good fight" in all states, our best hope for marriage equality is gonna be in the states "near" the ones that already have made such progress. Namely, in New England. There's bound to be some "spillover" into states that border Massachusetts, Vermont, and Connecticut. When people, who are basically liberal or independent to begin with, see that the sky hasn't fallen, surely they will start to see the light. Is that viewpoint hopelessly naive?
Then maybe one of these days some of this fairness will trickle south (hopefully within my lifetime!) We really need the big psychological push that a big state would provide, like CA or NY approving marriage for everyone. But for now, I'll take what I can get.... come on, New Hampshire!! You can do it!!
