Absolutely freaked my husband out. I had been telling him about our extra cats, and he kind of just nodded and said, "Sure, Hon, whatever you say..." (He embraces the religion of science, you see...) Anyhow, we had a couple of extra kitties in the house that really were not of this world any more, and they were not shy at all. I'd see and hear them pretty regularly.

One morning, hubby was in the house alone with our living cats in bed with him. He woke up hearing a cat fussing in the next room and realized that all of our regular cats were in the bed with him. When he walked out into the living room he saw a cat sitting on top of the cat tree just meowing away. He actually thought I'd let a strange cat in the house with our brood, and looked for our guys again to make sure to keep them separated from the "interloper." All three were still asleep. When he walked toward the cat tree the other cat vanished.

That single experience converted him. He now does believe that we have ghost kitties visiting sometimes.

We have moved, and those particular visitor kitties did not move with us. We do have the occasional spotting of a "strange" cat running around--out of the corner of the eye--but nowhere near the level of activity that we used to.

Odd thing, hubby got up the other morning and said he'd dreamed that I had adopted a few cats and not told him about it. He said he dreamed that he was walking thru the house and spotted a few cats that were not ours. I'm wondering if maybe he's now picking up vibes from visitors that I haven't noticed yet.

I had always assumed that everyone had "ghost pets" at one time or another. I had also figured that not everyone actually realized they had those visitors. I think a lot of people are not willing to see them.
