32. I have a very strong psychic connection to my horses. |

I have a mare that I have owned since '93. I got her as a weanling so I have been through the breaking and training process with her and am very close to her in every way. I know that she prefers chestnut stallions and that she wishes I would visit more often. (She boards in KY now) She knows that I am proud of her and she appreciates that I make sure she is well cared for. When she first went away from the track to be bred, she was turned out at the farm in KY with a big group of mares. It was late fall. I kept having an image in my mind of her shivering in a cold rain. So I called the farm and asked what it was like down there. Sure enough, it was a cold, rainy fall and she was miserable because she was not yet acclimated to being outdoors all the time and hadn't grown enough hair to protect herself from the elements. So they had to bring her in more than the other mares until she toughened up a bit and got used to it. She always shows me what she wants by showing up very clearly in mind and showing me detailed pictures of what is going on.
She seems to know whether she is carrying a colt or a filly when she is pregnant and fills me in on this information. If I told people this stuff they would think I was nuts.
We used to pay a psychic to come do some readings on the horses, but we don't anymore because I realized I was paying for information I already knew.
Most horses communicate with me by pictures but with some it is an intense feeling.
I was once privileged to be the exercise rider for one of the great horses in our business. This was back in the early '70's. The horse was sore but the vets and the trainer could not figure out exactly what the problem was. They thought he was sore behind and injected his stifles and worked on him everywhere except in the area with the problem. One night I had a dream that was more like a TV program where this horse was standing there facing me, staring at me and pointing at the front leg that was bothering him. I did not tell the trainer I had a dream, but I told him I thought the problem was in the front, not the back and told him which leg. HE thought I was nuts and basically told me to mind my own business. Several weeks later they x-rayed one of his front ankles and found a chip. They send him for surgery, took the chip out and he went on to set a track record that stood for over 25 years in FL.
I don't talk about this stuff to anyone. But I believe we all share the same consciousness and I believe in the oneness of all life. Animals are our fellow travelers on this path and it is has been the greatest gift of my life to share my journey with them.
