208. To Dream the Impossible Dream: "Frog March Puppet Theater".
It couldn't happen to a nicer guy: Watergate buff sportscaster-turned-newsman finds himself witnessing similar historical events but with far grander implications, all the while having a news show that has acquired enough credibility and eyeball-worthiness to book the very best guests to look at each day's developments, informed both by the acumen of the commentators and the guiding wisdom of the questions.

So: no Frog March Puppet Theater. Too flippant for this topic. Beyond, as they say, the pale: that final fence beyond which is wilderness, and whatever humanity may exist there savages. Yes, beyond the license of Bloggerman.

So it is up to us. We must make this happen.

We owe to Olbermann.

We owe it to Murrow.

We owe it to Ernie Kovacs.

We owe it to Steve Allen, Sid Caeser, and everyone whoever spoke sincerely without fear of being laughed at, or made jokes without fear of the wrath of the self-appointed stiflers of human joy and creativity.

I'm saving up popsicle sticks.

Woo hoo hoo.
