Yes BHN, you are absolutely right, our country is in a terrible state right now. But six years is a relatively short period of time. How long do you suppose it took for the civil rights movement to bear fruit? It's due to the efforts of past Liberals and Progressives that we have enjoyed most of the civil liberties we have. There was a significant number of Americans who allowed themselves to be manipulated by bush and the neocons, but that movement is dying as we speak. It's our turn and duty now to take up the mantle of "Liberal" and begin to repair the damage that has been done. In the future, what we do now will be cited as the "empirical evidence" that you"re now asking for.
