Strengthening the dollar by decreasing the trade and budget deficits would be another biggie. The value of the dollars that we've been paying to the Saudis over the last few years has seriously eroded. To achieve the same buying power foreign sellers have had to raise prices. The erosion of the dollar v. other currencies does play a part in today's skyrocketing prices.
