10. You left out the understanding!

You can't have peace without love; you can't have love without understanding. Empathy is a prerequisite.

As far as what's funny is concerned (aside from the inherently absurd nature of life itself, which is pretty gosh-darned funny), I refer you to the following bit of pseudo-Daoist wisdom I gleaned from the Internet(s):

Two fish are swimming upstream.
The first fish hits his head on a big concrete wall.
He turns to the other one and says, "Damn!"
