What I see in the timeline is a series of events intertwining the White House with Abramoff after the e-mails are being deleted. FBI begins looking into Abramoff in early 2004. From the time line:

May 8, 2004: ... Abramoff-Ralston email using RNC server printed by Greenberg-Traurig ... Ralston using RNC server to bypass public White House server....
June 2004: Senate Indian Affairs .. first subpoena ... Abramoff scandal....

It is fully two years after the FBI is investigating Abramoff when
We the People find out they were destroying all e-mail evidence.
We have John McCain to thank for covering up Abramoff until post Nov. 2004,
and perhaps for aiding the obstruction of justice that continues as we read the timeline.
