24. It was his whole life as a younger man, until he retired from the Navy.
He wants to be commander-in-chief and a wartime President, just like Chimpy. He's sick in the head. Anyone can see that Iraq stopped being a win/lose proposition in 2003, but he truly sees it that way, still thinks we're fighting the "enemy", whoever it happens to be this week: al Qaeda, Iranians, al Sadr's militia, Sunni insurgents. He needs war to feel alive, it's very obvious, and he wants to command an army, do it well, and show everybody he's better than Bush at it. Jim Webb and Chuck Hagel, on the other hand, also saw war up close, and had a more normal and healthy reaction--they lost their taste for pointless bloodshed.
