the Democrats will lose the 2008 election. Democrats chose not to impeach Reagan in 1987 in order to help their chances in the 1988 election and lost anyway. In 1974, when Nixon faced certain impeachment and was forced tor esign the Democrats won the next election. If you let criminals skate past the law for political reasons the voters lose respect for you and you look weak and indecisive. It is time for the Democratic party to assert itself and bing the criminals to justice and never mind the 2008 election, it will take care of itself.
