44. They taught us in Psych 101 that there are stages of moral
development. Most adults move through the stage of "doing good to avoid punishment" during or immediately after their teenage years. Maturity, morally speaking, is doing good for the sake of doing good. One knows what is right and choses to do right out of ones own desire to do so. Morally immature people tend to get stuck in the earlier stage from childhood only doing right to avoid the negatives associated with being caught. Seems to sum up the Freeper/Fundie psyche pretty well, I think.
