2. Republicans are going nuts here in Upstate New York. For years and
years, the Assembly and State Senate Districts were gerrymandered so that we've had Democrats running the lower house and Republicans running the upper house. Effectively, 3 men ran New York; the Governor, the Senate Majority Leader and the Assembly Majority Leader. I think the Republicans are within 2 seats of losing their hold over the State Senate.

One possible change: the Republicans have made an art out of pitting the intersts of small city/rural Upstate vs those of New York City.
