Family members are split on whether or not a great grandparent was really northwestern european or not. As a child my dad loved having one blondy kid and I finally accepted he was my dad when I was in my late 20's after I was assured that I looked just like sibs who looked like his side of the family, except for my coloring.

He wrote me yesterday and said he had to check the news first thing Wed am to make sure he wasn't dreaming. As did I.

I am glad he lived to see President-elect Obama also.
