...so that they never have to confront their own doubts about the need for our current wars. They think that Obama's urging us to reconsider is somehow "weak," which only reveals the frailty of their own commitment to duty, honor and country.

Officers have the tough job of continuing to sell useless, bloody war year after year to troops who need leadership. When they start to believe the propaganda, though, they become dangerous to themselves and to everyone in their commands.
