I'm saying that most of those positions are not Democratic positions. They are positions I share, but I don't vote for the Democrats anticipating they will bring Socialism to the United States -- they aren't a Socialist party. Voting for the Democrats in the hope that we will nationalize resources and establish a national living wage is like voting for Republicans expecting increased environmental protections -- it's delusional because it's in direct conflict with the inherent positions of the party.

No, it's because lots and lots of people just don't give a shit, don't pay attention, and don't think about politics. I know plenty of them and their lack of voting has nothing to do with needing a new choice; they just don't care to make the choice in any event.
