I think the Democrats are standing up for the wrong side here... It is reported on www.talkingpointsmemo.com that Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson is thinking of asking for the remainder of the $700 billion dollars, just one week after saying that money would be used by Barack Obama when he came into office. It has been my belief that this was their intent all along.

If the Democrats give this money up without any "plan" and without any questions, then I do not feel they are on our side. They have betrayed the people, plain and simple. That is just my opinion. But we can only cut them so much slack until someone has to hold them accountable.

It was bad enough that they gave up $700 billion to these bankers without as much as a murmur. Then, when GM and the Big Three asked for help, they got all self-righteous and started asking for plans. That is all well and good but please don't pretend that the bankers are more on our side than the Big Three. Yeah, they suck, but if we have to choose..??

Then today, CitiGroup asks for another $20 billion on top of the $25 billion already received. If the Congress gives the rest of the money to these folks with nothing in return, then we need to do some serious re-evaluating, in my humble opinion.
