71. Kitty Genovese, in Kew Gardens, Queens in the 60s. She was being stabbed to death, screaming for
help and no one helped her, while people were watching out of their apartment windows. A black eye on the people of NYC.

I'm originally from Queens myself, and I always found the people I knew to be pretty cool and engaged. During a big black out in the 60s, my whole apartment building banded together to help each other out.
