I was very disappointed. It wasn't worth the effort.
The deals were not at all anything I would call great. I've gotten better deals by shopping after Christmas sales.
The ads were very misleading too. I would take things up to the checkout, only to find out the one I'd chosen was Not on sale. When the sign reads 50% off all items in the store, they don't really mean all the items in the store are 50% off.
I got this feeling as if the stores weren't really trying. I visited Target, Old Navy and a few others. Their sales were ho-hum and their products were very limited, mostly Chinese crap. I got the feeling that retailers knew we would be out on Black Friday so they didn't need to do anything to get our business. They put up a few signs, spent a lot on advertisement, but made no real effort to offer a worthwhile sale. It was as if the bush was running Black Friday - all talk (or advertisement and hype) but no substance.
