A highly promiscuous (however one defines that) person can have multiple sex partners in a given year but not actually have sex all that often. OTOH a person in a happy monogamous relationship might be getting laid every night. :shrug:

This is what I don't get about the abstinence-only virginity fetish nutzoids. They have a point about the value of monogamy (though that's not a state that is desired by or works out for everyone) but they place a strange value on avoiding sex as a way to make it more special and satisfying. Which is oddly counterintuitive because no one ever got good at anything by NOT doing it so why should sex be any different?
