and newspapers are hemorrhaging jobs, hit by both the loss of ad revenue, due to the declining economy, and competition from the Internet as a news source.

Last year, my paper laid off six people, including one in my department. The Grim Reaper tapped him on the shoulder one morning, and my co-worker was gone as soon as his wife could pick him up. He was in his fifties.

Losing health coverage would be a concern, as I can't get it otherwise due to a "pre-existing condition."
