23. I think it's hard enough to deal with right-wing BS when you're

hearing it come from their own lips -- and so much of it has been pre-programmed by
"on point" recordings, etc. over decades.
To hear it even further spun by anchors and commentators from the corporate-side is
even worse.

I sympathize with many who think they're going to change media, but they
don't seem to understand that many of us were trying to do that 20 years ago.
It won't happen without anti-trust laws being enforced.
And, a return to the Fairness Doctrine.

I watched as GE kept Pat Buchanan propped up -- sexist, racist and homophobic.
"Crossfire" was an atrocity and I would watch 2 or 3 minutes of it and did my share of
letter writing, etc. But in the end, you have to realize that there is a reason why
the public can't change what is happening re media -- and that's monopoly control which
has been permitted by corruption of government by corporations/$$$.

The right wing fears any kind of truth, any info that can possibly benefit the public.
They favor violence of every kind on TV and kill anything on TV that could possibly be
healthful, helpful or informative.

Again -- I sympathize, but even C-span has been crushed over the years of GOP control ...
We've also had their Senate coverage taken away by Comcast almost two years ago!
I have to tune in via internet if I want to see it -- quite inconvenient.
The networks are way, way down on numbers of people watching, but they don't really care
if they can block info.
CNN went from something like 13 million internationally under Ted Turner to buy out bringing
them to 3 million viewers.

MSNBC-GE moved to Olbermann and now Maddow, IMO, because they saw the change coming in
leadership and wanted to keep their military bread buttered.
Also, I think, to try to knock out Jon Stewart. When he's gone, there will be nothing but
MSNBC.
