6. You are mixing apples and oranges...
Your rather patronizing assumption, "The problem is that you don't see the problem with that. What happens in 8 years, or even 4, if a Republican is elected?" I will simply state that that is far from the truth. I agree that there is a problem with the whole concept of EXECUTIVE ORDERS, which is what you are referring to. Contrast this to FEDERAL LAW and those rights laid out by the CONSTITUTION. These are quite different issues, requiring different solutions. Blending them into one big pile of frustration, affords no opportunity to look at solutions.

I agree there are major systemic problems and that the integrity and good will of the President (or lack there of) affords far too many opportunities for ideological manipulation. Electing carefully the person who will hold that office is critical and our loss of effective media reporting and scrutiny allows the public to be mislead. But, we have let the courts assume the bulk of the checks and balances on the Executive, given the impotence of a sycophantic congress. Courts are too slow in affording these checks and similarly bastardized by ideological
appointments. So, where are we? If we want to assert more control over the executive, the balance has been lost in Congress. I would argue the press and Congress is where we need to exert our efforts. No more DINOS and Federalize the $$ in elections. FCC needs to be restructured top to bottom to remove the ideologues and strengthen protections against monopolies in media.

That as a start...
