The wingnuts were drawing a parallel to a BROADCASTING OUTLET that is religious (and wingnut) in focus, but NOT non-profit. & Univision is running a CITIZENSHIP drive among green carders. Upon achieving CITIZENSHIP they *would* be "eligible to be registered to vote. Agree that not everybody registering is certain to vote Democratic.
But as for religious outfits being limited in their political activities, well on my local radio talk station, which has an all wingnut line-up, they constantly run ads sponsored by a church that attacks Libs. I tried calling the IRS to find out about filing a complaint, but it was a MAZE of calls talking to people who passed the buck and ending with somebody who said that they are not in the business of curtailing free speech. I think that so long as they don't endorse a particular candidate or party by name they can't be pinned down, but its obvious who they are pulling for.
