3. The pious posturing, the obsessive self-contratulatory boasting of superiority,
all that baloney crashes to the ground for anyone who dares to start looking for the truth about REAL interraction, intervention, destabilization, overthrowing of governments, assassinations, and continuous covert action against the best interests of people within their own countries, to bribe, coerce their leaders to put US interests first above the needs of the poor of their own country, to corrupt them to the point they throw open their countries to exploitation, rape, pillage just for personal enrichment and power.

After the disillusion sets in, it finally becomes possible to start learning there are some actual GOOD U.S. politicians who have been working toward the higher ideals from the first, if they don't get assassinated, that is!

Learning about the corruption makes the good ones stand out starkly. There aren't as many of them, clearly, but in the end, all the fascist, racist scum like Jesse Helms, Tom DeLay, and their ilk who have been controlling Latin America policy DO fade away, and are forgotten, thank god, when they are gone, while the images of the few truly GOOD ones we've got shine brightly, and THEIR aspirations WILL WIN, in the end. It's inevitable, in time, even though the criminals among us usually seem to get the upper, more powerful hand.

Hope it happens in our lifetimes.
