43. Treason is announcing that you would like the President to fail, at the very start
of his Presidency, in a time of the worst financial crisis since the Depression. Note, Limbaugh didn't say he wanted Obama's plan to repeal DADT to fail, or his healthcare initiative to fail, or any number of specific policies to fail. He wanted the President himself to fail, early and often. That is an order of magnitude greater than usual politics, or disagreement with policy. That is a wish for the nation to suffer under a failure of a President, so that Republicans can be proven correct and then regain power. Had a similarly prominent Democrat stated the same thing at the start of Bush's first term, I would feel the same way--it's treason. It's hoping for the downfall of our nation for political gain.
