As soon as you have three co-equal branches, and then, you split one of those into the House and the Senate, you have checks and balances all over the place.

The entire process of amendments (at the level of the Constitution and at the level of individual legislation) SCREAMS compromise.

The notion of near endless debate was a central part of how our Constitution came to be.

The idea that anyone who understands how our government works would be upset by Obama's comment is ridiculous. But this is DU, and "ridiculousness" thrives here in recent times.
