Bush Vows to Spend What Is Necessary to Win War
Bush Vows to Spend What Is Necessary to Win War

Reuters
Sunday, September 7, 2003; 6:17 PM

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush will say in a speech to the nation on Sunday night that crushing a guerrilla campaign in Iraq will take time and require sacrifices, and he will vow to spend whatever is necessary for victory.

According to speech excerpts released by the White House, Bush also will say members of the United Nations "now have an opportunity, and the responsibility, to assume a broader role in assuring that Iraq becomes a free and democratic nation."

Bush, in a speech he will deliver at 8:30 p.m. EDT, will say that recent bombings in Iraq are aimed at forcing the United States to leave the country.

"There is more at work in these attacks than blind rage. The terrorists have a strategic goal. They want us to leave Iraq before our work is done. They want to shake the will of the civilized world," he will say.

Translation....I could care less about how much we spend. If I lose Iraq...I lose the American people.

You have already lost us.........

11. So is this the "hill Shrub will die on?"
His numbers are at 45% approval, 54% disapproval so has Rove decided that *'s only prayer is to play the terra card all the way (to Nov. 04)?

Has he got nothing else to stand on? Exactly. Think ahead to Fall '04 in the Presidential debates what record will * be able to show for himself? Nada!

13. That's generosity if I ever heard it.
This brings me back to a time, about 6 months ago, when Bush was pulling out the stops to push for war. I remember being flabbergasted when he pulled up his hand as he was making a speech. "I promised to protect the American people when I became President". He was reiterating a vow he had made to protect us.

So I wonder today, how well is he protecting us? I just got done posting onto another thread; what are other nations thinking about all this? As they watch Bush push us over the cliff, burning money hand over fist. What must they be thinking, as they watch this lunatic bring on the Armageddon of his creation.

We're so used to being the "top banana" in the world, we never stop to think that other countries might want to take advantage of us right now, while we're broke and short of troops.

Can you visualize this? Military planners, following closely as this disaster unfolds. They discuss back and forth, maybe we should give them about a year until they're really vulnerable, and then -----?

14. Bu$$$h: "I will do what is necessary to win the war
(the war I said was over on May 1), even if that means I have to spend every last one of your pennies to do it! Even if it means thousands of your children (not mine, thank Lucifer) coming home in body bags, I will win this war! Even if it means trampling on your rights and suspending the Constitution (which I swore to defend), I will WIN this war! Even if it means I have to steal another election to stay in office, I will WIN THIS WAR! So let us be firm in our resolution, I WILL WIN THIS WAR!

15. Finished reading the transcript and catching various sound bites….
Truly…truly…pathetic. Again, he can’t sell Iraq by itself because it’s not sellable and never has been. He cites Afghanistan and other hot beds, yet the money wasn’t requested for other areas…it was for the quagmire in Iraq.

Services are being slashed, states are in dire need, monies are leaving and they aren’t coming back, yet we are being asked to spend what could easily be a 100 Billion in the not so distant future on a fucking ego trip.

The only mention on why we’re there in the first place is the war on terra. We have 9,500 troops in Afghanistan where al Qaeda was and still are. We have 150.000 troops in Iraq where they never were and questionable as to their appearance today. We have a vast disparity in what is being conveyed and what is reality.

I feel we have only a hand full of individuals with a podium to say anything that are and there needs to be more. The media aren’t gonna shift their coverage unless more have the courage to speak out and sadly, I see mostly yellow at this point.
