Group Passes on Addressing Global Warming (Some Blame U.S.)
REYKJAVIK, Iceland -- Although faced with fresh evidence of global warming, the United States and other members the Arctic Council on Wednesday failed to make any recommendations to combat a problem most scientists say is causing sea ice to melt and temperatures to rise.

The council met to consider a new scientific report suggesting the Arctic is warming up much faster than the rest of the planet.

Some delegates on the council, a respected international panel that advises governments on Arctic issues, seemed to blame their group's inaction on America's rejection of the Kyoto Protocol, which requires industrial nations to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases. The Bush administration prefers voluntary measures to save the environment.

"We no sooner leave the science proper than we enter into politics," said Bryndis Kjartansdottir, speaking on behalf of the Icelandic ministry which chaired the one-day meeting.

1. The only real debate about global warming is weather the ocean will raise
30 feet or 50 feet in the next 80 years.

The ocean currents will stop and the seas will heat up and the heat engines that circulate the winds will create Massive high and low pressure areas.. MASSIVE storms when they collide... if the Huge high pressure areas stall over land..drought, dust storms and heat storms will purge any humanity from the area... maybe for ever...desertafication.

water is already a problem.. it will start looking like mars around here..

2. All that the idiots can see is the commercial potential of Arctic thawing.
They think it would be swell to have the shipping lanes free of ice. I am sure that they also see a strategic advantage in faster naval access to Russia.
These are either the dumbest people alive or the most evil people who ever lived. They are willing to sacrifice earth itself for their power. I guess they think they can live in bunkers or in space for several generations and that their progeny will then have it all.
