(Angus Reid Consultants - CPOD Global Scan) – José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero maintains a steady level of public support in Spain, according to a poll by Instituto Opina released by Cadena Ser. 58.2 per cent of respondents approve of the president’s performance. <snip>

Mar. 2005 Late Feb. 2004 Early Feb. 2004

Approve 58.2% 58.1% 63.0%
Disapprove 32.3% 31.3% 28.2%

Methodology: Telephone interviews to 1,000 Spanish adults, conducted on Mar. 9, 2005. Margin of error is 3.1 per cent.

Usually the press works them over so bad they don't get numbers like that year out.

3. the press in Spain is not all right wing...
Spain's most important newspaper, El País, is definitely left wing for example.

Zapatero gets almost sixty percent and the media whispers "steady".
