Production to stop at Pfizer plant in Holland(MI)

<SNIP>Update, Holland, March 22, 2005, 12:04 p.m.) As part of a global manufacturing review, Pfizer has announced it will end production at its facility in Holland.

The company is looking for someone else to own or operate the facility under a lease agreement, which officials hope is in place by the end of 2006. Beyond that, the site may not stay open.

Nat Ricciardi, president of Pfizer Global Manufacturing, says the decision is part of an extensive assessment of the company's manufacturing operations over the past two years, which is when the company acquired Pharmacia.

Man, Holland just takes hit, after hit, after hit. I really feel badly for them. With actions like this it's no wonder prescriptions cost so much and big pharma. is so profitable. They are limiting supply.

6. They're not limiting supply

they're just ending American jobs, including the jobs of a few workers who used those jobs to buy their medications.

Production will simply be shifted to some third world country whose currency translates a living wage their into dollars that won't supply enough calories to somebody living in a cardboard box.

7. Let me tell you something about Pfizer and other Pharms.

Up until I received a prescription card from Pfizer I was paying $86-90 for a certain drug. After I got my card which allowed me to pay 10% of the cost (with a $600 free amount) they raised the price to $157.00. They use that figure against my $600.00. They giveth, then taketh away. That is how the Medicare card will work. Anyone who does not think corporations rule will be in for a shock.
