Autopsy set for today on man who died after being hit by Taser (CA)

DELHI, Calif. An autopsy is scheduled for today on the body of a Merced County man who died after police tried to subdue him with a Taser over the weekend.

Authorities hope the autopsy will determine if it was the electric jolt from the Taser that killed James Floyd Wathan Junior during an altercation with police Sunday night.

A spokesman for the Merced County Sheriff's Department says the 32-year-old Wathan was declared dead at his parents home after being hit by the Taser. <snip>
