Entertainment Industry Sues Downloaders Using Internet2
Edited on Fri Apr-15-05 12:00 AM by GHOSTDANCER
The U.S. entertainment industry has struck a new blow against the illegal downloading of music and movies, suing 415 students who downloaded copyrighted files over an experimental and super fast new Internet.

Latest News about Internet2 system is a next generation prototype that is much quicker than the current network and is currently deployed in about 200 colleges and universities. It allows users to download high quality movies in less than five minutes while an average song takes a mere 20 seconds to download.

I'm not quite sure but why is this news? O ya scare tactics. Check the number of downloads for the P2P apps at this link <http://www.download.com/3101-2001_4-0-1.html?tag=dir>

I thought the new system was designed to track people better and was more secure than the current Internet anyways? O look the propaganda machine must be on again.

4. no, and there's an easy answer why not

The record companies have literally limitless funds- if they wish to prove a point- to push the issue, far above and beyond what the Average Joe can spend to mount a vigorous defense.

This is one major reason why I am against the doctrine of corporate personhood: it allows megacorporations to sue the People individually and be virtually guaranteed a win.

They use the settlement numbers to claim they are right in their cause, but that's a ruse. Those settlements happen because the people they are suing can't afford to defend forever- and the companies bringing the suits bloody well know it.

Sick, greedy bastards, all of them.
