Nearly All U.S. Food Soon to Be Monitored

Virtually every food product in the United States will soon have to be registered along with its supplier as part of the "fight against terrorism."

Figuring that the best way to protect the nation's food supply is to keep better tabs on it (?!?), the government is requiring some 400,000 facilities in the United States to register themselves and their products with the Food and Drug Administration. :grr:

(So they can prevent the organic and healthy food from being disseminated, and Bush can facilitate his next act of terrorism in the United States.)

1. OK, this is one of the scariest stories I've read in a long time
It truly creeps me out. And you know it has nothing at all to do with OUR safety.

Hey, where's that anthrax mailer, anyway?

2. Um,
as a person with food allergies I can see some potential good in this.

Not under this administration, true.

8. It'll be good until you see that only Monsanto can sell "food"...
Bet that'll play havoc with your allergies.

18. Monsanto won't control distribution
Ahold will. They are the world's largest food distributors and second in the States. Thank God they are Dutch. :)

4. We may not be able to fund proper health inspections
But by god, we've got plenty of money for yet another dumb idea in the name of Republican big-government stupidity. I like to know where my e. coli is coming from. Thank you, Mr. pReznit! I feel safer already!

:puke:

We'll be 20 years or more undoing all the mass stupidity perpetrated by these shaitans. Goddamn, it all just makes me so fucking mad. Can we bring back Reagan already? I truly didn't know just how bad it could get.

5. Now I know where all the
Afghan drug trade goes. The whole crop is sent straight to Washington DC. This misadmin can not possibly be this stupid naturally. They have to have help to be this depraved.

Shall we follow the money, folks. Who benfits from this. Guess we need to wait and see which foods get stopped at the distribution point. I assume that these will all be organic and non-GMO. No doubt Monsanto will now claim to have a Terror-ists defeating gene they can implant in all our food to make it safe.

Big Bizzzzz to the rescue.

 Yep, they are really making me

6. why not spend this $ on labeling the food GM'd or not?
I would appreciate this being on every item in the grocery store. I hate these frankenfoods! Why not spend the money on something that actually might be useful information to many out there?

What a bunch of complete idiots!!!

9. Yeah, why don't i just cut off my feet NOW...
Instead of waitng for them to rot off from Franken-food fueled "Type Three" diabetes ("You ain't never seen anything like it! the sugar crystalizes in your toes!")

This has "Payback to the GMO industry for Services Rendered to The Empire" written all over it.

Soylent Green and Zik-Zak Meal-Paks...

11. actually that is what woke me up with this GMO thing
I did not realize how much of it is out there (almost everything in the grocery store!). I recently had blood work done and my sugar level was unusually high. I've since knocked the GMO'd stuff out best I can.

I hope it helps because my health is already pretty crummy. I seriously think *they* are trying to off the lot of us in this boat of having poor health. Good healthy food DOES help, I don't care what anyone says. Haven't eaten any "junk" food in a few months now. The idea of eating it now I find repulsive! Truly "puke" food! :puke: :puke: :puke:

I requested a "Pops" avatar months ago, and was delighted when they finally offered it . . . it's the one I use as well, but I've taken a temporary respite to support the Yankees during the playoffs . . . Louis was the greatest influence on American popular music ever, and he's one of my personal favorites . . . cheers . . . :)

14. Type THREE diabetes?? WTF?
Is this actually some new type of condition, or is it simply a rapid-onset, totally debilitating type two condition?

19. It's not here yet. ADM is still developing it.
OK, so I'm being sarcastic. At present, there is NO "Type III Diabetes".
Since some scientists (and me, a type-2 sufferer) think that there is a connection between our modern GMO diet and Adult Onset Diabetes, I just took things to the next incredible step in the progression.

Just think of it, a disease that causes crystals of High-Fructose Corn Sweetner to form in your toes and fingers, like Gout. A condition that can be treated ONLY by a $1,500 a week drug from Eli Lilly....

and since the ReTHUGlican-controlled Congress won't require ADM and Monsanto to label the shit, like they do in Europe, we don't know when we're eating Frankenfood, so I just assume that it's ALL Frankenfood.

Except for "Mr. Dell's" frozen hash browns. Says right on the front of the package "Non-GMO"...THOSE are the ones *I* buy, NOT "Ore-Ida" (get the hint, food producers!)

23. Technically there IS a "type 3"
they just don't call it that. Gestational Diabetes is the third type. MODY is "maturity onset diabetes in youth" and is probably the fastest growing type. Then there is "type 4" which is surgically induced diabetes (having your pancreas removed for cancer or other disease)

I have had type 1 for 27 years and have watched my disease become a $14 billion a year industry. There is no way, in my opinion, there is not an environmental link to the almost pandemic upsurge of diabetes onset.

7. First register the producer and supplier
then register the consumer prior to being able to purchase.

15. It's part of the bizzarre war on Terrorist French cheeses and olives.....
For some damn stupid reason the U.S. government has been waging a constant battle to eliminate the importation or production of raw milk cheeses. This is despite the well documented fact that the vast majority of cases of food related poisening in the U.S. come from domestic meats and eggs.

The goal seems to be to eliminate good tasting food made by small producers. I can see the food cops now crashing in on a mexican grandma's kitchen........Stop!! put DOWN THE TAMALES LADY!!!

Has anyone checked the food in Washington for hallucinogens lately?

17. Soylent Green is
Sheeple!

Or is it ARE Sheeple?...

This is a very dangerous and scary move.. I used to joke in college and two of my jokes have become reality..

1) "In 20 years we'll be goose stepping for Jesus all over the world."

2) "You don't get any food until you get your Church Card punched..."

I'm going to have to start revamping my jokes for the future..

I'm leaving this country before it's too late. The smart jews got out.

21. Food will never be safe unless YOU produce what you consume
Tis the only way to know what, how, when and that nobody has tampered with it along its long trip to your kitchen. This is just ridiculous!

There is no security, only illusion. Why can't the UA public get that?

This should just about finish off the family farmer and local food processor.

22. Halliburton is now feeding our troops,
Which basically makes them hostages. The Global Feudalists have just about got all the means of energy production (fossil by owership, renewable by means of buying patents) and are working on privatizing water around the world (think Coke and India). Been hollaring for about a decade that we will really be in trouble when the tie up the loose end of food production and distribution. Seems like that is about to happen.

Teach your children how to garden. Get flower pots. Become a political gardener.
