Soldiers Complain of Low Morale in Iraq ("Good Morning America")
WASHINGTON (Reuters)

Fed up with being in Iraq and demoralized by their role as peacekeepers in a risky place, a group of U.S. soldiers aired their plight on U.S. television Wednesday and said they had lost faith in the Army.

Told several times they would be going home only to have their hopes dashed this week, a small group of soldiers from the 3rd Infantry Division in Iraq, spoke of poor morale and disillusionment with Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.

"If Donald Rumsfeld were here, I'd ask him for his resignation," one disgruntled soldier told ABC's "Good Morning America" show.

Asked by a reporter what his message would be for Rumsfeld, another said: "I would ask him why we are still here. I don't have any clue as to why we are still in Iraq." ---

2. Is free speech still allowed for our troops?
This has been a dripping story for some time ...
the war crimes are not only being committed against Iraqis !

These guys and their families are victims of the Smirk War Co. as well.

Bartcop yesterday alleged a letter from a soldier to his mom, saying they don't get regular meals!

 :nuke: WTF!! :nuke:

3. Rummy's feet are in the fire
Incredibly, he is still promising that the 3rd ID will be rotated out by Sept. Unfortunately, the Bushies have blown a wad on this war and they can no longer afford the time or money to swap out an entire division and supplies. He's making another promise he can't keep. With his gigantic ego, he figured Iraq would be a walk in the park. Poor, poor planning on his part and Cheney's. Just goes to show, CEOs with little to no military experience don't know squat.

Pentagon says it still plans to have 3rd ID home from Iraq by September

4. I heard the
2 p.m. newsblurb on ABC and they reported that any soldier that complains should be "disciplined" -

I am just appalled - this is an all volunteer military - they were lied to repeatedly regarding the need of military intervention in Iraq - they are under some of the most despicable of circumstances inside a country that was 'supposed to be throwing flowers' - they have the most corrupt administration and Pentagon advisors in the history of our country -

if there is a need for "discipline" - it should start at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue

5. WHO said that "Any soldier who complains should be disciplined..."?
or did they say that any souldier who complained WOULD be disciplined? "WOULD be" is reporting, "SHOULD be" is editorial commentary, unless they were quoting some RW Thug.

7. BiggJawn - I don't remember the guy's name
but it's the "Azairbai" or whatever the guy that just replaced Franks - over there - they had him on the screen, but were doing a "voice-over" with the commentary and it was that "any soldier that complains of the mission in Iraq should be disciplined" -

does that answer your question?
