Report: Suicide attack kills 80 in Afghan south

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan - An Afghan governor said Sunday a suicide bomb attack at a dog fighting competition killed 80 people -- the deadliest attack in Afghanistan since the fall of the Taliban.

Some people were also wounded by the explosion which went off at a location where spectators were watching dogs fight, the witnesses said.

"The match was going on and all of a sudden the explosion went off," said witness Abdul Rahman whose brother was killed.

Police sealed off the site of the blast. Pieces of flesh and body parts were scattered near the site and ambulances rushed wounded to hospitals.

6. Our NATO allies are not going to hang with us forever.

And who can blame them? 6+ yrs and the country is out of control (something anyone who picked up a history book could have predicted). We have no troops to replace NATO's. We need an exit strategy for Iraq and Afghanistan NOW. I have an idea of why we're still in Iraq (oil, draining the US treasury, etc), but why are we still in Afghanistan? Certainly not looking for OBL, who's probably dead.
