EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Senators Obama and Clinton once again faced off in crucial primaries as voters in Indiana and North Carolina crowded polls today seeking to settle the largest remaining contests in an epic Democratic presidential nomination struggle.

Senator Obama fuels up this morning in Greenwood, Ind.Mr. Obama was looking to shore up his position as the front-runner, while Mrs. Clinton was seeking another victory to keep her candidacy competitive in a race that is likely to continue into June and perhaps to the Democratic National Convention in August.

Mr. Obama began the day by dropping in on the Four Seasons Family Restaurant in the Greenwood, Ind., a suburb of Indianapolis. He walked around shaking hands, then sat at the counter and had an omelet, chatting with patrons on either side.

"I feel good," Mr. Obama said when asked about the day's voting. "I think we've campaigned hard. I think it's going to be close. I'm seeing a lot of enthusiasm."

2. I live in Greensboro North Carolina
And frankly I have not seen these long lines at polling stations. It took my about ten minutes to vote, tops. Probably an unusual number of African Americans for my precient, but not overwhelmingly so. I have no feeling for this race right now.

6. I was voter #228 today, NC has early voting & prints 100% ballots unlike Indiana
and Indiana purged over 1 million voters since Nov 2007, and has
such a strict photo id requirement that a bunch of nuns couldn't vote.

plus Indiana has full blown open primaries.

sheesh.

5. I can't figure out why they waited...
...to vote till today. Early voting gives barely any lines. I heard people complaining at work today that they might not get to vote cause the lines would be too long. Geez, quit procrastinating and vote early.

7. welcome to DU. Early voting can be risky to your ballot - NC lost 4,400 ballots in Nov 2004
during early voting in Carteret County, one machine lost 4,400 ballots.

You get alot of votes all in one place, on fewer machines, it concentrates the risk.
