Delta suspends dividend for common stockholders; saves $12MIL annually |
|
July 24, 2003--Delta Air Lines today said its board of directors voted to discontinue the payment of a quarterly dividend for common stockholders.
The Atlanta-based airline previously paid a quarterly dividend of two and a half cents per common share. The move is expected to save the nation's third-largest passenger airline about $12 million per year.
"The board of directors believes that this difficult but necessary step highlights the serious challenges that Delta still faces," said Leo Mullin, Delta's chairman and CEO. (More) http://www.fltops.com/FT021209.html

Dumbyah just got done saying today that corporations all across America were starting to pay out dividends, because of the dividend tax cut. He said that the effect was to put more money into the pockets of everybody. Of course, I knew he was lying, but he DID say it.
(edited for spellying)
