Wrong video of health protest spurs N-word feud
Source: Associated Press

Three Democratic congressmen — all black — say they heard racial slurs as they walked through thousands of angry protesters outside the U.S. Capitol. A white lawmaker says he heard the epithets too. Conservative activists say the lawmakers are lying.

What does the video show? Not much. Indeed, new interviews show that a much-viewed YouTube recording cited as evidence by conservatives was actually shot well after the time in question.

It was March 20, near the end of the bitter health care debate, when Reps. John Lewis, Andre Carson and Emanuel Cleaver say that some demonstrators, many of them tea party activists, yelled the "N-word" as the congressmen walked from House office buildings to the Capitol.

Stung by the charges of racism, conservatives and tea party activists insist it never happened. And one of them is offering big money if anyone can prove it did.

"This is 2010. Even a racist is media-savvy enough not to yell the N-word," says Breitbart. Racists aren't dumb enough to yell the n-word? I personally have known people who think it's okay as long as they denigrate some White's with the n-word as well, and yes, they were the teaparty sort.

It looks like it's Holocaust-Denial lite, there's not one despicable act that can't be denied due to bad memory, unacceptable witnesses and too high a standard of evidence. They've already shown a much lower standard of disproof by putting up videos that weren't of the time involved. Now, if a video surfaces, they'll merely say it it has been dubbed and tampered with.

The punch-line is in saying that liberal operatives who were planted in the crowd to shout racial epithets. This means that even any evidence found on video wouldn't convince him. Funny that this is the same guy, Andrew Breitbart, who put up the vids of the false pimp and prostitute smearing ACORN. His living in fear of dirty tricks from liberals has a sort of poetic justice. He really doesn't understand that even shouting racial epithets for the "service" of the greater good is immoral to any liberal.

Now all they need to do is show that Carl Paladino, a racist Tea Party candidate in New York, is really a liberal operative.

This won't be like the holocaust, Mr. Breitbart. You'll have a new denial every week. That's how fast your own Teapartiers who are going to create a new racism scandal. They pride themselves on their ignorance and see a total lack of media savvy as being a "straight-shooter" like Uncle Ron, who was only a straight-shooter in the movies and used a teleprompter otherwise.

1. His defense is "Yes they are racists but not stupid enough to say it on camera".

Racist - yes

Stupid - no

That is some defense.

3. How ridiculous, as if the use of the N word was the only indicator of racism. Collectively,
these idiots have made it very clear, we will accept any jerk who is against the Democrats, for any reason...racists included.

Indeed.

No one has any problem whatsoever believing that such words could be as easily yelled, anywhere and at anyone, as "You lie!" or "Baby killer!".

The general tone of the GOP is clear as a bell.

4. If Heath Shuler says he heard it, that's as good as confirmation
He's not exactly a progressive. He's probably more republican than democrat.

7. You can hear the N word on the videos Breitbart posted
to prove no one yelled the N word.

But something tells me he'll never pay this reward.

8. there is no doubt..there is only denial
Soon after leaving Cannon, "I hear someone say it," said Carson, a former police officer. "You see one or two tea party people kind of look at him, and then you hear it again as we're walking. Then we walk across (Independence Avenue), and that's when it starts getting deeper." (Andre Carson from Indiana}

Carson said he heard it coming from different places in the crowd. "You heard it in spurts, in the midst of 'Kill the bill. Kill the bill."'

"One guy, I remember he just rattled it off several times. Then John looks at me and says, 'You know, this reminds me of a different time."'

When you have a congressman yell out "you lie" on a national broadcast to our president..another who calls a pro-life democrat "baby killer" and you have rightwingers waving and cheering the mob on from the balcony of the house..it's not to difficult to understand..

10. Selective censorship?
Why do the articles of these events censor the word "nigger" but print the full word "faggot"?

Why is the f-word considered less offensive than the n-word?

13. Because of slavery, and Jim Crow.

The N-word has much more baggage.

11. Right wingers never pay their debts when they lose a bet.
Look at what happened when Kerry handed TB Pickens his ass and told him to eat. He never paid. Breitbart is such a douche you can see he would never pay up just by looking at him.

12. Breitbart's really pissing me off
he's very careless in the way he is insistently calling John Lewis a liar.

I'm sure he's pissing other people off a lot more than me. John Lewis, for example, although John Lewis has faced much worse than Breitbart.
