Sheriff Joe Arpaio teams up with Arizona pol to plan a new 'tent city' for illegal immigration

The controversial Phoenix-area sheriff has teamed up with Arizona State Treasurer and candidate for governor Dean Martin to introduce an ambitious new plan for border security.

The Zero Tolerance plan includes a border fence and enhanced security, but proposes stronger detention policies than Martin's Republican rival, Gov. Jan Brewer.

Martin envisions a tent city to house the influx of illegal aliens expected to be arrested once the state's tough new immigration law goes into effect.

"I will work with Sheriff Joe to establish a statewide tent city specifically to house illegal aliens convicted of crimes in Arizona," Martin's plan reads.

There has been more than more group that's been put in concentration camps in our history. Japanese for example. Finding a group of people and confining them into makeshift prisons is a concentration camp. You can say they broke the law but when the photos taken of them show only latinos, no eastern Europeans or any other white people, shit will hit the fan in this country as far as race relations go. You can't deny that.

During the Boer War, the british rounded up boer women and children into concentrations camps. About 15-20000 died in those camps.

It mandates 6 months in county jail for any "illegals" discovered before handing them over to the Feds...

So, think about this, this bullshit right-wing racist republican arizona legislature (and their stooge Brewer in order to get her unelected ass finally elected) mandates that the cash-strapped counties get an additional unfunded mandate having to act like ICE and spend even more on jails and courts and lawyers and judges...stressing their budgets even further...

As usual, when it comes to bigotry, unfunded mandates are fine...

And if they actually DID get "rid of those people", the arizona economy would go even further in the toilet...

When undocumented immigrants are handed over to the feds for deportation, there aren't enough detention facilities to hold them all. So the feds hang onto only those that have serious criminal records, and RELEASE the rest pending deportation proceedings.

It takes five years or more before a hearing is held, and during that time the "illegal" gets LEGAL STATUS--and can even get a green card to work. So the effect of the law, instead of getting rid of "illegals," is to give most a "get out of jail free" card for at least five years, with permission for legal employment!

No wonder Sheriff Joe announced he won't turn them over to the feds. :rofl:
